How We Work

How we Work

For clients seeking therapy over a number of sessions the process will generally be as follows;

Stage 1 - Enquiry / Free Consultation

Following your initial enquiry and if you want to take the next steps and we can work together / I will invite you to attend  a FREE, no obligation, consultation during which I gain further understanding of your needs and I can explain how I work and how I might be able to help you. During this 30-40 minute consultation you will have the opportunity to meet me face-to-face, ask me any questions you might have and get a feel for the environment in which I deliver my therapies.  Ideally this consultation will take place in my Empowering Space located in Gosforth, however it can be done as a video call if preferred.

Stage 2 - Initial Assessment

Providing you are happy to engage my services following the FREE consultation, you would then attend for an Initial Assessment (90 minutes for adults, 60 minutes for children) during which we dig deeper into the issues you are seeking help with and discuss your desired outcomes from working with me.  This Initial Assessment session will allow me to gain a sufficiently good understanding of your current situation and your desired outcomes so that I may evaluate what therapies would be most effective for you and prepare an Individual Therapeutic coaching Plan/ Package.

 Following the Initial Assessment, normally within 3-5 days, I will provide you with a written proposal for an Individualised/ Family Therapeutic coaching Plan/ package.  This will outline the therapies and modalities I suggest for you and give an estimate of the number of sessions that will be required (This will also be reviewed and changed if need be as we continue our work together).

Stage 3 - Therapy Plan Delivery

If you are happy with the proposed Therapeutic coaching Plan we will book you in for your first therapeutic coaching session and begin your journey towards your desired outcome. Therapy sessions are 50-60 minutes in duration and session frequency is likely to be every 1 to 4 weeks depending upon your individual circumstances.  The total number of therapy sessions required will be different for everyone, however, as a guide most people will require between 2 to 8 sessions to achieve desired outcomes.  More complex issues, or family cases involving several family members, may require more sessions (This will always be reviewed as we work together).

Stage 4 - Completion

Completion of your therapeutic coaching  will be when you have reached your desired/ achieved outcomes, in terms of being mentally empowered and confident in your ability to deal with whatever issues you came to me seeking help with.

For adult clients seeking the more intense therapy experience of a “Breakthrough Day” the process will generally be:

Stage 1 - Enquiry/ Free Consultation

Following your initial contact I will invite  you For a FREE, no obligation, consultation. During which I gain an initial understanding of your needs and  explain  how a  breakthrough Day works.

Stage 2 - Initial Assessment

This  90 minutes Initial Assessment session will allow me to gain a sufficiently good understanding of your current situation and your desired outcomes so that I may evaluate what therapies would be most effective for you and prepare a plan for the Breakthrough Day itself.  Following the Initial Assessment, normally within 2-3 days, I will provide you with a written proposal for the Breakthrough Day which will outline the therapies and modalities I suggest for you.

Stage 3 - Breakthrough Day

If you are happy with the proposed plan for your Breakthrough Day we will book you in at a convenient day for you. Your Breakthrough Day will typically last for eight hours, consisting of seven hours of therapy delivery / coaching with a break for lunch and two short refreshment breaks.  Breakthrough Days are an intense, yet very rewarding experience for both my clients and myself.

For therapy to work we both need to have 100% commitment while working together.
